Winerd Game

This exciting board game tests your wine knowledge with every sip. Begin by tasting three different wines -- use the tasting sheet to note their names, where they are produced, and their aromas, colors, and flavors.

(Does the Chardonnay have a hint of banana? Is there an under lying element of vanilla in the Cabernet?)

Land on a blind tasting space, take a sip of one of the wines, and try to remember which one it is. The more you remember, the faster you move around the board!

Drip Disks: Ok this was my first wine gadget if you can call it that. It is simple and cheap, but works perfectly to eliminate drips. Just roll it up stick it in the open bottle and it will keep your game board (and other surfaces) free of unsightly purple drips.

About Us

The Winerd® game has been on the market since 2002 and is now in its 7th production run. Recently, the game was licensed to Chronicle Books who designed the 2011 version to have a new look.Tamara Leigh Murphy, creator of the Winerd® game, has been in the food and wine industry for two decades. She graduated from Boston University and then attended culinary school in her native Chicago and pastry school in Manhattan. After holding various chef and pastry chef positions in both New York City and Chicago, Tamara found herself drifting over into the wine world.While later living in San Francisco she was further captivated by the wine culture of Northern California. She has worked in wine sales, wine promotions, wine education and consulting. Soon after entering the wine industry Tamara realized how many people wanted to feel more comfortable drinking wine but were still intimidated by the topic. She launched Wine Tutors to offer small informal and interactive wine appreciation classes. These classes proved to be quite popular and inspired the creation of the Winerd® game.Tamara has provided wine-themed entertainment at many fundraisers, corporate, and charity events. Richard J. Murphy is an attorney by profession. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School in 1997, he was hired as a litigator in Chicago. While there, he met and married Tamara. Richard helped Tamara to develop the Winerd® game. In addition, he secured the registered trademarks for the game and drafted and/or negotiated licensing agreements for the Winerd® game.
